Big News!

Team Lounge are hitting London's bright city of London this weekend, as long as the train gets Sharon there at some point over the four days.

If you'd like us to put a question to Dave Gorman on your behalf email us by Saturday night, marking your emails "Ask Dave". Try to keep them clean. Many thanks.

Room nearly finished now. Walls painted, shelves up. Go team Turnbull! Anyway, do you want the good news or the bad news? The bad news is I have to get up at 6.30am tomorrow for my first day at my new job. The good news is that I get to listen to Christian O'Connell on Xfm Breakfast.

Wish me luck!

Another day, another trip to Ikea. Shelves are going up a treat and what's more the nonce at the agency decided to go home before sorting out the details for my temp placement so now I don't have to start til Wednesday... altogether now... HOORAY!! So instead I've been penciled in to paint. I'm not quite sure I which I'd prefer.

Just to let you all know that we're doing some long awaited interviews the weekend after next so expect great things and shiny new features towards the end of November. Do us a favour though and keep checking back, thereby increasing our hits. Makes us look good. There will be the update though cos there are some cracking new programmes coming up on the telly - including Oram and Meeten's long-awaited Comedy Lab debut. Watch this space.
Hooray. Another week of excitement and I am sure that all one of you is dying to find out what we've been up to. The highlight of my week must be the delivery of my spanking new free nokia upgrade on Tuesday and the resulting attempt to download the New Order - Blue Monday polyphinic phone ring with little success. This, and the discovery of the David Gray track "Longest Time" on the interweb.

Wednesday - Went to see Mike (the DJ from the Rig... see 12/10 entry) at the Laughing Horse in Camden and had my commitment to the cause of new comedy severely tested. Not only were our backsides aching at the end of the night, we had actually forgotten what it was to laugh. No, that's not entirely true. Mike was very good ("one to watch") and so was a guy called Brian Craig (I think) who has done over 100 gigs (and deserves some recognition) and also the first Irish guy who was on (I'll try to remember his name). The rest I will reserve comment on.

Thursday - Had an interview for a temp job in a bank which I got and after much persuasion by the agency and the increase in the hourly rate I submitted to the evil capitalists and agreed. Don't worry though, its temporary, I haven't given up on my comedy job quest yet... and I never will. Also got an exciting phone call but I cannot divulge any details in case nothing comes of it and I end up telling everyone bad news again and they tell me not to worry cos something better will be along soon. I am still waiting! Anyway, at least I will have some cash to buy Xmas presents with and to put towards a possible Xmas party... watch this space!

Friday - Drinking with old work colleagues and then my second of three trips to Wembley to see the wonderful Lee Evans. He absolutely stormed it and I don't think there was a single person there who didn't enjoy at least one of the two thoroughly hilarious hours that he was on for. Fantastic. He's still my top favourite. And what's more, Sir Geoff Hurst and Teddy Sherringham were sitting in front of us. Yes. Look impressed. And I heard rumours of Alex from BB being in the bar. Not quite so impressive but he's still more famous than us. As are most people.

Saturday - Ealing Studios to see Johnny Candon MC, Marcus Brigstocke, Sean Meo and Brendan Burns. They were all great. Johnny was looking pale and tired after a long night of relentless drinking and Sean Meo didn't really seem to want to be there, but still churned out some of the old favourites (he was replacing Jeff Green who should have been on but apparently had a bad gig there the night before). Jem Brista was great, 500 times better than in the Cutting Edge final and Brendan Burns was superb, making Kathryn cackle for the first time in a good while, by use of the phrase "goated up". But by far and away the best was Marcus Brigstocke. We don't see his stand up all that often and I can honestly say that he gets better and better every time. He was absolutely fantastic last night. Kathryn was unable to breathe for a while after and his new material was just brilliant. Very much looking forward to seeing him again. We think he should release a live video. As long as it contains the greatest Jim'll Fix It joke ever written.

Tonight - Coldplay at Wembley Arena, to complete the Wembley trilogy. Fantastic. I am now very tired and also relieved that I don't start my new job until tuesday. Although my dad will be drilling walls and putting up shelves in my bedroom from as early as 8am tomorrow. A perfect ending to a great week. Not.

What did you do?!

The woman at the agency today tried to convince me to get a permanent job cos apparently the "market" is very slow at the moment. But the other nice lady said she would try and find me a temp job. B.O.R.I.N.G. I am quite enjoying myself living in my little daytime TV bubble but I fear it is about to burst.

Yesterday I made my 5th Ikea visit since getting back from Edinburgh. Everything in my room matches though. So that's nice. Sharon was telling me about dog burps last night.

The weather is rubbish and my feet are cold. That is all.

Me again. I can't believe I am telling you all this, but I went to Wembley tonight. To see A-ha. I am a child of the 80s, alright? It's not strictly my fault. I must say that Morten was just amazing. I've never quite heard a voice like it and during one stage he made me go weak at the knees... and those pecs...I'll sleep well tonight. Tomorrow I am off to buy every album A-ha have ever made... and then drool over some pictures of Morten, Mags and Pal.

Please keep this information to yourself.

It's been nearly a week but we're back due to popular...erm, one person's.... demand. Let me see.... This week I have mostly still not got a job and am getting more addicted to House Invaders and Ready Steady Cook - it's a sad state of affairs and I fear for my sanity. Please. Somebody help. I need to get out of the house.

As Kathryn had Tuesday and Wednesday off work, we decided it would be splendid to go back up to Nottingham for the night and go to the best indie club in the UK (The Rig - part of the fabulous Rock City) where we spent every Tuesday or our university lives. Glad to see the same old DJ, Mike, who coincidentally has turned his hand to stand-up comedy. We're off to see him at the Laughing Horse on Wednesday so he'd better be good. Come along if you like.

It was very bizarre being back in Nottingham with all the students wandering around and it felt like we'd come home... we didn't want to leave. We found ourselves trying to think of courses we could go back to study and picked up the Evening Post for the jobs section. Thanks to the Alumni dept we got ourselves NUS cards which has made us very happy indeed. The highlight of the night was when we went to the Student Union bar and I ordered a pint of Carling, which cost £1. Kathryn said my face lit up. Now I know how I obtained my nickname..."boozy"... we could get drunk on a fiver back in my day. Oh, memories... sorry, I think I am sharing too much.

Yet another night out. While Sharon and Edel went to see Robin Williams being a bit scary in a film, Kathryn and I went to London's trendy Soho-ho to see gagmeister general Tim Vine and compere Robin Ince as well as Steve Gribbin, Lara Silverstone and the magical Danny Buckler. One of the best nights out on the circuit for ages. All the acts were superb and Tim Vine didn't fail to dissolve me and Kathryn into an absolute mess, from which we are still recovering.

After another mammoth phone conversation, we've come up with some exciting ideas for the Lounge which should take shape sometime in November and with my current lack of jobs (all offers considered) I now have some form of motivation. We also plan to write a book!

Last night we finally got around to seeing the Vagina Monologues and very good it was too. The cast included Trudi Styler (Sting's wife - Sting himself was in the audience last night for his Birthday treat), Harriet Thorpe (Carol in Brittas Empire and also in Ab Fab) and Mina Anwar (Const. Habib in The Thin Blue Line and TV To Go) - all of whom were excellent. It was very funny and very provocative and has raised a lot of money for various charities. There are only another 3 weeks left so go along to the Arts Theatre - starts at 7pm - and then you could wander around the corner and see Talking Cock at the Soho Theatre - starts at 9.15pm. See things from a male and female perspective on the same night.

As a result of seeing the show, we are looking for our own Bobs. If you think you could be him please do not hesitate to email us on the link on the left!
